Dominik Fassbinder
Senior Partner & Co-Founder
Corporate Law • M&A • Family Law • Inheritance & Estate Planning • International Cross-Border Transactions
Dominik Fassbinder co-founded LexBerg in Frankfurt's Westend district in 1994 and has spent over three decades building one of Germany's most respected law practices. His work spans three interconnected disciplines: corporate and commercial law, family law, and inheritance & estate planning — a rare combination that makes him uniquely valuable to high-net-worth individuals, family-owned businesses, and multinational clients whose legal needs cross personal and commercial boundaries.
On the family and inheritance side, Dominik advises clients on complex succession planning, cross-border inheritance disputes, family business transfers, and the structuring of estates with assets spread across multiple jurisdictions. He is particularly sought after where inheritance and corporate law intersect — such as the transfer of a family-owned company across generations, or the division of international business assets following a divorce or death.
His international practice extends well beyond Europe. Dominik advises clients on transactions and disputes spanning the United States, sub-Saharan Africa, and the Middle East. In the US, he advises German and European clients entering the American market and represents US corporations on EU-regulated transactions. In Africa, he has structured investments, joint ventures, and inheritance matters across Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, and Kenya — working with local counsel to deliver Frankfurt-standard rigour in emerging markets.
He personally led LexBerg's landmark €12M international arbitration victory in 1998. Reachable directly on his US line at +1 (401) 293-6744, Dominik works across time zones to serve clients wherever they are in the world.
